Teyana Taylor Taking Over R&B

Harlem stand up because Teyana Taylor is not here to play. The multi-talented artist released  her first full length album VII  on November 4^th under Def Jam records. The album debuted straight in at No.1 on Top R&B Hip-Hop Albums. With features like Chris Brown, Fabulous and more she still keeps it R&B with some Hip-Hop flavor.

With A total of 14 songs including her first single “Maybe” featuring Yo Gotti and Pusha T Teyana made it clear what to expect from this album. Leading up to the release of the album Teyana also made teaser videos to only four songs off the album teasing her fans even more.  

Recently the songstress released her second single off the album “Do Not Disturb” featuring Chris Brown:  A seductive bedroom banger, which was one of the few that included a teaser video.  

The album definitely has a R&B 90’s feel from the production and how she uses her very unique voice. Kanye has also told the artist she has a 90's type sound and vibe."I didn't even realize at first that  I had this 90's vibe until Ye was like you have this 90's vibe." the artist explains how she grew up listening to 90's music so its an automatic sound for her. Teyana had a 90's type vibe but still made it hers sound with this album. Inspiration from Genuine in the song “Business” and paying homage to Teena Marie’s Portuguese love Teyana Has out did herself with this album.

It has been seven years since we’ve been exposed to Teyana and that's where the name of the album derived from.  “I thought it would be dope if I named the album seven because my journey from the last seven years have been a tough one” Teyana explains in her interview with Madam Noir.

I can say this built the anticipation for her album for fans who've patiently waited. It has been tough journey for Teyanna but she fought against all odds to make this album. We've seen Teyana act and do features, dance an much more; but all we wanted was some music !

“This is your time they always say seven is a year of completion, this is your seventh year” Teyana’s mother Nikki Taylor explained at the album release party.

Congratulations to Teyana Taylor and her new album.  If you haven’t heard it you might want to cop that and see what the talk is about, this could possibly be her year.  
I must say i'm impressed and prod of the singer, congrats Teyana !
